Above Skala, on the slope of the mountain is Metochi, which was first settled at the beginning of the 19th century by Arvanites. It got the name "Metochi", because its area was a metochi of the Holy Monastery of Chrysoleontissa of Aegina.

You go to Metochi from Skala by a bypass road, about one kilometer, from the coastal road. Metochi is a beautiful, cool and picturesque village, distinguished by its local character, on the north-eastern side of the island.

Metochi has beautiful old traditional houses, many of which have a panoramic view towards the sea, Skala, Metopi and Aegina.

In Metochi there is the Temple of the Dormition of the Virgin which is a metochi of Panagia Chrysoleontissa. It celebrates the fifteenth of August and used to be a big "festival".
